Over the years there have been several club members responsible for editing the club newsletter, The
Checkerboard Flyer. It is a time consuming process yet important to the membership. The newsletter not
only brings members important timely information about club activities, but also chronicles the history of
the club. We wish to extend a warm and sincere thanks to all newsletter editors, past and present, for their
work on behalf of the club. It is deeply appreciated. Thank you!
The newsletter is published on a monthly basis, usually being sent out the week prior to the monthly
meeting. In the early days before computer technology the newsletter was drawn by hand or put together
with a combination of typewritten, photo copied, and cut & paste methods. In more recent years the
newsletter was produced using a combination of computer software and digital cameras. And while many
club members still receive the newsletter via the Post Office, over twenty club member now receive the
newsletter only by email, thus saving the club some postage costs.
